Our chiropractor offers physiotherapy treatments including ultrasound, class 4 laser therapy, and interferential electrical muscle stimulation. These treatments help speed internal healing by boosting the body’s natural ability to repair cellular damage. For example, following a whiplash injury or sports injury, many patients struggle with soft tissue damage, such as swelling and inflammation; treatments like class 4 laser therapy use light energy to boost the body's natural ability to heal during the injury recovery process.
Microcurrent therapy safely penetrates deep into the cell to promote the flow of oxygen-rich blood, flush out cellular waste and relieve pain. This treatment helps relieve painful inflammation, and by penetrating deep into the cell, the benefits last even after the treatment ends. Class 4 laser therapy is similar; it relieves pain and swelling and promotes healing without the need for drugs or surgery. During a therapy treatment, the light from the laser penetrates the skin up to three inches in depth and is absorbed by the cells in a damaged or injured area. The light is absorbed and converted into energy to normalize cellular processes and increase the cell’s metabolism, speeding the injury recovery process.
We also offer cryotherapy, moist heat therapy and a work hardening rehabilitation program. A combination of hot and cold therapies can help reduce swelling and relax tense muscle tissue. Corrective exercises can also help strengthen the body’s core and restore a full range of motion and movement, which helps reduce the risk of future injury.
In addition to physiotherapy treatments, we also offer acupressure. Acupressure uses gentle pressure to stimulate healing along specific pressure points in the body. Following a soft tissue injury, it is natural for our bodies to “lock up” as muscles in our back, shoulder or neck become tense with pain. By applying targeted pressure, acupressure treatments can release this tension, stimulating the flow of blood through the muscles and enhancing natural relaxation.
Seminole chiropractor patients and those patients in the surrounding areas choose our wellness center because of our unique, whole body approach to rehabilitation care. Our chiropractor specifically targets the painful, weak or stiff joints and muscle injuries that are holding your body back from healing. By focusing on the underlying cause for your pain and injury, we can help your body heal safely and correctly. This also helps prevent the buildup of scar tissue that can block proper healing and leading to chronic pain and inflammation. Just as our chiropractic adjustments restore alignment to the body, so too can our physiotherapy treatments help you manage pain and heal damaged tissue.
Whether your injury occurred last week or last year, it's never too late (or too soon) to get healthy and heal. Visit your St. Petersburg chiropractor, Dr. Butch today at: 727-362-4155.
